I have been waiting for this for some time. At last Microsoft has released a free antivirus! You can go and pick it up now at: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
I've heard good things from the Beta; like it is supposed to be really light weight and it is supposed to be easy to use and unobtrusive. I'm uninstalling AVG right now and I'm installing Microsoft Security Essentials. Let's see how it goes!
